“Even in a life as un-storied as mine I’ve had all manner of munition leveled at me. I don’t know if it was the way she moved or the fire in her eye but the woman on the trigger end of that rifle scared me more than the jawing depths of hell.”
'A Darker Shade of Red' is a collection of six short plays which examine the nature of the human heart through their various lenses. A man finds himself in a kopitiam on a somewhat-familiar, somewhat-alien street: Jalan Sehala. A patient plays games with his therapist, unfolding the past as they sink toy ships on co-ordinates. A guilty man confesses his sins to a priest, but confronts more than he expected. A voice speaks of discovering life in the darkness of space. A woman forces an unpleasant truth from her husband. In a saloon on a post-apocalyptic outpost, a wild west story unfolds. Klpac presents 'A Darker Shade of Red', directed by Marvin Wong (Stage Therapy, The Things We Have Lost). Featuring: Omar Ali, Sandee Chew, Morten Stender Christensen, Natalie Heng, Karanbir Hundal, Nitia, Nina Shah, Miho Yeap & Iskandar Zulkarnain.
