Young people are the future of Malaysian Theatre. They hold in their hands the ability to create vibrant, thought-provoking theatre for all Malaysians. The idea of a theatre for young people was first outlined in a Sunday Star article back in 1991 by Joe Hasham. What seemed like an impossible dream then has since materialised with the launch of klpac’s ground-breaking Theatre for Young People (T4YP) programme 3 years ago. The on...ly programme of its kind in the country, klpac’s Theatre for Young People (T4YP) is aimed at providing a platform for young people with the opportunity to express themselves by creating meaningful theatre.
Once again, we would like to welcome young people between the ages of 16 to 25 years old to be part of the T4YP Ensemble as actors for Season 2011. Previous theatre experience is not essential. However, commitment, creativity and dedication are…
Season 2011 runs for a period of six months from April to September and features three mainstage productions in Pentas 2 and a 2-week season of experimental theatre in the Indicine. Throughout the season, compulsory weekly rehearsals are conducted on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday nights as well as Saturday afternoons. Ensemble members may be required to attend rehearsals on certain Sunday afternoon and nights as well.
