Minimalaysia has announced the label's return for the first time on Friday 16th of July. After a four month break from their residency at Cloth & Clef. With host Hebbo, the dates will feature Adam Jand Gaijin to showcase the sounds of fresh electronic music, with an emphasis not only on established artists, but artists on the rise as well, but that shouldn't matter much. Anyone who’s been to one of their previous nights know the label know how to throw a good party, and this is guaranteed to be one of their best ever, with a line up and venue made for each other exactly what to expect from quality of house and techno, backed by a best new lineup of local djs talent. Please note, this event is strictly limited to a 200 capacity so please come early to avoid disappointment! SUPPORT!

Baru-baru ini Akta Universiti dan Kolej Universiti (AUKU) 1971 sekali lagi menjadi perhatian umum apabila empat mahasiswa jurusan Sains Politik UKM bakal dikenakan tindakan disiplin di bawah akta tersebut kerana didakwa melibatkan diri dalam kempen pilihanraya kecil Hulu Selangor. Mereka telah dituduh melanggar Seksyen 15(5)(a) AUKU yang melarang mahasiswa dari menyatakan sokongan atau simpati terhadap mana-mana parti politik.

Walaupun semakin banyak perhatian diberikan terhadap kes tersebut, pemahaman tentang latar belakang, fungsi, keberkesanan dan impak sebenar AUKU masih menjadi persoalan serta tanda tanya dikalangan mahasiswa dan juga masyarakat umum.

Siri ketiga "AUKU Public Lecture Series" akan melihat kesan serta impak sebenar AUKU terhadap hak dan kebebasan mahasiswa dari sudut pandangan aktivis mahasiswa sendiri.

Are you an ARTIST? (DEADLINE 31 JULY 2010)

How to participate?

Each artist/group will be given a space of approximately 5 meters. Medium can be anything from drawings to paintings to photography to sculpture to installation (just make sure it can fit in the lift or through the stairs). But you are encouraged to use lines, or any interpretation of lines.

Artist/group will be selected based on proposal. So please include:
1. Description of premise of works to be submitted, and why it is relevant to the theme / artist's statement,
2. Description of physical nature of work, ie. size, quantity, medium, etc.
3. Brief biodata of artist

Please email to: jerome@annexegallery.com with the heading "Deadlines Exhibition".

Inevitably, the deadline for proposal submission is 31 July.

a multimedia lecture by Fahmi Reza

“To alienate students from politics means to alienate them from their own society” - Khong Kim Hoong, University Malaya Student Union 10th Council president (1969).

Fahmi Reza (director of 10 Tahun Sebelum Merdeka), will present his ongoing research into this under-documented period of Malaysian history in a multimedia lecture that combines rare photos, video footage, newspaper reports, archival materials and interviews.

Note: The lecture will be presented in Bahasa Malaysia.

The evening promises to be an enlightening and inspiring one for lovers of the written and spoken word.
