WAMM - We Are Malaysian Made : FILM | THEATRE | MUSIC | EVENTS
It's been a slow news month these past few weeks, hence the many interviews on WAMMcast for the past few episodes. This week we present Nick Dorian - actor, photographer and many other things combined. He won best actor recently for Short & Sweet and he's started a brand new video web series on the local arts scene called 'The Backstage Life'.

He also recently went to the opening of PenangPac so in a way he's also our correspondent reporting events from elsewhere, like on TV news. Except this isn't live. Or professional, as you'll hear when the conversations meander to realms even we're not sure about.

Enjoy, and apologies for the late upload. And don't forget to check out the debut episode of 'The Backstage Life' below and The Candids website.

If you didn't get to check out the Comics Are Cool event at Earth 638 check out the video to see what you missed and discover some artists from Gilamon Studios!
Too epic not to share. Local band The Have-Nots perform the famous BIlly Joel song 'We DIdn't Start the Fire', Malaysian style!
It appears Khairil M. Bahar needs some help on the post-production side for the next 3 months starting as soon as possible. Candidates will be working on video and audio editing as well as helping out on set and even on WAMM related thingeys so click the pic above or CLICK HERE to find out more.

Sometimes, taking a break from all the large musicals and huge festivals and just going to the theatre for something small and intimate, with to a solid script written by a new writer, with some awesome performances on stage; plus some clever and eye-pleasing stage design - can be good for the soul.

Check it out at KLPAC, Pentas 2. Run ends this Sunday (13 Nov 2011).

LiveShocks is a friendly, laid back reading session where writers can have their work read, actors can have a chance to read some brand new material and directors can listen (for a change). It can be a ground for new writers to gauge their work, for experienced writers to experiment or just a place to meet other people interested in the performing arts. All are welcome!

Venue: Sparky Dawg Entertainment, Ground Floor, Unit 108, Block G, Phileo Damansara 1 No 9 Jalan 16/11, 46350 Petaling Jaya, Selangor Jalan 16/11 Petaling Jaya, Malaysia

After his insistent 'persuasion', we interrupt our regularly scheduled programming to bring you an interview with WAMM's CEO, Michael's new favourite band, Once Upon A Time There Was A Sausage Named Bob. We talk to the band about, amongst other things, the art of screaming, their madcap album recording process and their upcoming charity gig, SausageFest.

And to show just how informal we are, fellow WAMM contributor Joshua crashes our podcast!

PS: Oh, and never ever compare the band to Paramore...

More detailed info on SausageFest can be found on the event's FB Page...
And what SausageFest would be complete without sausages? During the gigs, they'll be selling sausages at RM 1 a pop!

This happened to a friend of a friend. Once, these three friends
went up to visit an old asylum. You see, these three weren't the
careless inexperienced type.
No, they spent every waking hour dedicating themselves to
their blog and the pursuit of added viewership. You see,
this old asylum was the perfect spot for their horror-fanatic

Too perfect.

For Mo, Stevie and Jerry, a good ghost story on one late night drive
would be expected. But on this drive, the stories come to life.

And death.

The Drive is directed by Ashraf Zain & written by Jude James.
Featuring Ariff Faisal Abdullah, Branavan Aruljothi, Omar Ali, Sharon Lam, Ng Boon Ping
and Redza Minhat. Sorry, Ryan Gosling takde.
