Baba (Chee Hood Siong-left) & Nyonya (Kenny Chan-right)
I have just heard on Namewee's FB status update that "Baba" (Mr. Chee Hood Siong) has just passed away.
I have yet to see any official news in other sources on this matter.
If it is indeed true, then this is a sad piece of news. I was just reminded of some good 'ole times after watching them on Nasi Lemak 2.0 and suddenly this bad news comes up.
May he rest in peace.
Below is YouTube video I chanced upon only just now.
Listen in on our very first WAMMcast where we talk about BUNOHAN if you haven't heard about it.

Here's a little excerpt from the article featured in FACES magazine Sept 2011:
WAMM would like to introduce Tony Pietra and Khairil M.Bahar (aka Khai) to you.
Tony has an AIM award for ‘Best Music Video’ in 2007 for Pete Teo’s Lost In America which led to him directing episodes of Niche Film’s horror-thriller Dark City, TV movie Agi Hidup, Agi Ngelaban, Popiah Pictures’ Ghost series on NTV7 – and he is still actively working the scene.
Khai’s work is no less impressive. His first full length feature film Ciplak won the Anugerah Skrin 2006 for ‘Best Alternative Film’. He was part of 15Malaysia with Healthy Paranoia (2009), shot music videos for the likes of ‘One Buck Short’ and ‘Dragon Red’, acted /directed several TV Dramas. He is part of ‘Rollin’ Sixers’ with a brand new released album while acting and directing in plays as well.
Just for fun, I posed a question, “Are you guys Indie filmmakers?”
Khai had this to say, “…the words 'indie film' tend to bring to mind 90 minutes of people looking longingly out of a window whilst it rains but technically Die Hard and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles were independent films. At the same time, Mallrats was a complete mainstream studio film but people tend to think otherwise because of the subject matter and cast.”
Khai’s answer resonates with Tony.

The following is lifted from The StarOnline.
Controversial local musician Wee Meng Chee, better known as Namewee, can now call himself a filmmaker with the completion of his first movie Nasi Lemak 2.0.
The comedy, which comprises a multicultural cast of Malaysian stars, tells a story about a chef seeking his identity through the making of nasi lemak.
The cast include comedian and singer Adibah Noor, Karen Kong, Afdlin Shauki, Kenny & Chee, Reshmonu, Dennis Lau, Nur Fathia, Nadine Thomas, Pete Teo, Ho Yuhang, Dian Sharlin, and Felixia Yap.
“Nasi Lemak 2.0 is my gift to Malaysia in conjunction with the National Day celebrations. It is about how it should be here,” he told a press conference yesterday.
With a budget of barely RM1mil, the first-time film-maker admitted that it was tough making the movie which took him two years to complete.
“The toughest part of making Nasi Lemak 2.0 was having to take on numerous aspects of film-making like screenwriting, directing, acting, editing, songwriting and post-production,” said Wee who plays the main character.
The movie is mostly in Mandarin and Cantonese with a smattering of other Chinese dialects, Bahasa Malaysia, English and Tamil.
The film's executive producer Fred Chong also said Nasi Lemak 2.0 had the full support of the Minister from Prime Minister's office Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz who had issued an official letter endorsing it as a 1Malaysian film.Nasi Lemak 2.0 will be released on Sept 8.
