This competition is open for youth between the ages of 18 to 25 years old. This competition is open to all Malaysians and permanent residents of Malaysia. All video entries must be no longer than 5 minutes.
The video entries must be based on one or more of the THREE (3) specified themes for this competition:
a) INSPIRE
- share an inspiring story about parents, teachers, friends, mentors, or even your pets! Key values: inspiring, life changing, meaningful, heartwarming, uplifting.
b) MAKE A DIFFERENCE !
- empower yourself and others with your stories of how one person has made a big difference to your community (e.g. school, NGOs, local organizations etc)
c) LOVING EARTH
- appreciating our natural environment and taking care of it are matters close to all our hearts! Share your personal stories or messages!
Participants will stand a chance to win fantastic prizes worth more than RM 85,000. There will be 5 winners and the top winner will receive RM 40,000 in prize money and a Canon EOS 5D Mach II camera (body). The competition will be carried out in FIVE (5) phases:- (READ MORE below)
Stage 1- Participants will submit videos of no longer than 5 minutes via the official website, www.berjayayouth.com or through post, from 27 July 2011 to 8 September 2011.
Stage 2- A panel of three judges will pick the Top 10 videos. Our illustrious panel of judges is made up of Malaysia’s top directors/producers of blockbuster movies. Our judges are singer/songwriter/ director/actor Ah Niu, actor/director/script writer Afdlin Shauki and producer of Tayangan Unggul blockbusters such as KL Menjerit, Gayatri Pillai. The judges will mark each entry and ten entries with the highest scores will be selected.
Stage 3- The selected Top 10 videos will then be posted on the official website and the Top 5 will be selected through an open voting system by the public.
Stage4- The Top 5 entries will be enhanced by the participants.
Stage 5- The enhanced Top 5 films will be re-posted on the official website and the public will vote again to determine their placing.
